Welcome to our little type lovefest! We’ll be posting some of our favorites on Fridays, along with Lauren Elise Crafted, Steph from Bubblerock, Chelsey from Fourth and Folded , Jen from Blush Printables and Jenny from Hank + Hunt. For even more type inspiration, check out the Fontophile Files from the Aerialist Press, Font Love over at the Knotty Bride and Tuesday Type on Super Swoon (which we think is moving to Font Friday with us!).
We have a pretty cool one for you today:
It’s #11 (yep, no name) from the Walden Font Co’s Civil War Press- a collection of fonts based on actual 1860s type. We are all over this idea: you know we love to know about our font’s history. Diving into Walden’s awesome font collection sent us searching for a matching image, and that’s how we spent an hour looking through old Godey’s Lady’s Book plates on Flickr. Gorgeous. Anyway, we adore the- obvious- old timey feel to these, especially the shadowing on good old #11 here. And we’d also point out that Walden Font Co’s collections are quite affordable- the Civil War Press is $39 for 14 fonts. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!
While you’re here, we’d love if you’d check us out over on Oh So Beautiful Paper- Elizabeth and Kevin’s wedding invitations were featured yesterday and we got to put a big check mark next to the “OSBP” on our goal list, which thrilled us to no end. Plus E+K’s wedding is THIS weekend. Swing by and keep Jenna’s sweet husband Neil company in the comment section if you have a minute :)

You both are SO talented & creative!!! I love your work!!
Yay, I love their fonts! I’m such a sucker for an antique font :) And congrats on the OSBP feature!
Love the old-timey font and the great picture to accompany it! Also, love your work on OSBP. You guys rock!
Loving this! It’s so pretty! Vintage is just so hot right now!
